Kathmandu, July 13: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has registered a no-confidence proposal against the government in the Legislature-Parliament.
CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal proposed the no-confidence motion while the Nepali Congress president and main opposition party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba seconded it. The proposal was registered at the Parliament Building at Naya Baneshwar.
Two hundred and fifty-five members of parliament from the NC and the Maoist Centre have signed on the proposal.
Along with Dahal, NC parliamentary party chief whip Chinkaji Shrestha and the Maoist Centre’s parliamentary party chief whip Hitraj Pandey registered the proposal with the Legislature-Parliament Secretary-General, Manohar Prasad Bhattarai.
NC Chief Whip Shrestha said the present government led by KP Sharma Oli is in a moral crisis and urged the Prime Minister to resign from his post.
Maoist Centre’s Chief Whip Pandey called on Prime Minister Oli to resign so as to pave the way for the formation of a new government.
